Welcome to the “Help! I’m Invisible!” website. I created this site to help you change the conversation around disabilities in your workplace.
Ceramic sculpture art created by José Ignacio Porto Mato, Nacho Porto Ceramica.
The focus of my presentation is about invisible disabilities. However, since beginning this journey it’s become clear that everyone faces different challenges related to disability inclusion in their workplace. So, this page has links to websites with information on all types of disabilities.
My suggestion is that you look through these resources for the information most applicable to your workplace, and start there. No one knows better than you where to start in changing the conversation where you work.
Trust your instincts as you look through this information. When you read something that reminds you of your situation, that’s probably a good place to begin. Remember, it’s not important where you start trying to change the conversation, only that you start the journey.
Thank you,
Nancy Kasmar

“When one is disabled, the problem is not really that they have impairments and social skill deficits. The issue at stake is that they live in an ‘ableist’ culture that rarely affords them the space or opportunity to make their unique contribution to society and does not lift up the value of choosing them as friends.”
