Who We Are
Nancy Kasmar, MS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CCP
Nancy is a Principal of Compensation Connections, with over 25 years of management experience in addition to 10 years in human resources and total rewards. She received her Master of Science degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Certificate in Management from the University of California, San Diego. Nancy holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation with an additional certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). She is also certified as a SHRM-SCP.
Nancy has worked with hundreds of organizations throughout North America as a compensation consultant. She is the 2018 Director for Washington SHRM and is a past President of the Lake Washington Human Resource Association. In addition to her professional and volunteer responsibilities, Nancy speaks regionally and nationally on topics ranging from compensation and benefits to mentorship and diversity.
As you can tell by her shoes, Nancy walks for exercise when she isn’t working or volunteering. On the rare occasion she is not moving, she also enjoys spending time watching movies with her husband, Ken. Oh, and she loves laundry!
Shannon Drohman, MS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CCP
Shannon is a Principal of Compensation Connections. She has worked in human resources for over 25 years. With an emphasis on total rewards, she developed compensation strategies and designed comprehensive total reward programs as an internal partner and external consultant. Her clients have ranged in size from small start-ups to over 10,000 employees, in a variety of sectors including government, non-profit, education, manufacturing, technology, health care, and professional services.
Shannon loves helping HR professionals better understand compensation principles and frequently speaks at SHRM chapters and other associations. She has taught graduate-level HR Management courses and been an instructor with the University of Washington’s Human Resources Certificate program. Shannon is past President of the Lake Washington Human Resource Association. Her credentials include an MS/HR, SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications and Certified Compensation Professional designation.
When Shannon isn’t working or teaching, she can be found volunteering, reading, hiking or hanging out with Peter (human husband), Millie and Mouse (furry kids).
Matt is a Consultant with Compensation Connections. He has over 25 years of human resources, performance management, total rewards, and leadership coaching experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Washington.
Most recently Matt led the Total Rewards and Workplace Experience teams at Simple Finance. Prior to that he ran a successful software company called NextComp and was President of Johnson HR Consulting where he worked with some of the leading companies in the Pacific NW. Matt is a past President of the Northwest Compensation and Rewards Forum and co-led the successful launch of the first Rewards NW regional conference in 2014.
In his free time Matt loves to wander the beautiful Pacific Northwest taking photos and on the weekends traveling around the state for his kids’ soccer games. In the evenings he can be found watching HGTV and knitting with his wife Tien.
Jackie is a Consultant at Compensation Connections with more than 20 years of HR and compensation experience, specializing in total rewards consulting for private and public sector organizations.
She comes from a human resources generalist background, previously managing HR before moving on to compensation and benefits management, and finally consulting. Jackie gained much of her experience in the Silicon Valley and has worked for both start-up and mature organizations.
Jackie is an animal enthusiast who volunteers at a local animal shelter in the foster program, and even fosters kittens herself. She also loves to cook and bake. Her favorite kitchen appliance is her InstaPot, which gets used often. In addition to her husband, daughter and son, she has a plethora of fur babies of her own.
Erin Wolford, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Erin is a Consultant at Compensation Connections. She has over 10 years of experience as an internal business partner and external consultant in all elements of human resources. Erin has had the good fortune to work with a multitude of small to medium size companies in varying industries, including government, non-profit, for-profit, and start-up environments. The opportunity to meet and work alongside amazing people to achieve their business goals continues to be a driving motivation for Erin.
Erin received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Ethnic Studies from Washington State University, where she double majored in Women’s Studies and double minored in Psychology and Sociology. Erin also holds a certificate in Human Resources from Bellevue College, is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), with an additional certification as a SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) and is currently pursuing the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
When not joyfully plugging away at work, you can find Erin happily spending time with her husband and running after her two young children and great dane.
Anje is a Project Analyst with Compensation Connections. She has coordinated and administered large scale compensation and benefit surveys for over five years. Her experience includes full cycle survey management, including survey design and question writing, survey administration, data compilation and scrubbing, data analysis, and report writing.
Before joining Compensation Connections, Anje directed and produced over 10 compensation and benefit surveys each year, plus a number of industry custom surveys. She also managed employee satisfaction and engagement surveys.
Anje attended culinary school and, in her spare time, she enjoys putting on her pastry chef hat and baking scrumptious treats for her husband and son. And cat. Anje also is an Excel enthusiast and loves nerding out with spreadsheets and pivot tables more than a normal person should.
